Repose Spa Studio is a self-care sanctuary owned and run by me, Laura Coleman Leflar. The concept evolved out of several years of wanting to offer my clients a true safe haven of relaxation and wellness; a place where they could truly switch into “rest and digest” mode.

I’m a Charlottesville native who received my B.A. from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, VA in 2001. I began down the health & wellness career path when I moved to Charleston, SC in 2002. I relocated to Richmond in 2007 and returned to Charlottesville in 2010. I live in Albemarle County with my husband, Elliot.

I am a Master Esthetician, Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Health Coach, Certified Essential Oil Specialist, and Aromatherapist. I have spent much of my adult life recognizing the importance of relishing in life’s little pleasures and I now seek to help others recognize the same. I wholly believe that the world can be a better place—if only for a few moments or hours—if people take the time to care for themselves, in that it acts as a catalyst for kindness. Just as some have a propensity for design or sales, I understand the art of relaxation and the importance of self-care. After 9 years at The Spa at ACAC in Charlottesville, I launched Repose Spa Studio | a self-care sanctuary in the basement studio of Longtide Wellness Collective in June 2019.

A Master Esthetician since 2008, my skills, techniques, and rituals in the treatment room are intended to complement your daily and nightly sink-side habits of self-care at home. They are imperative for aging gracefully and maintaining a luminous complexion. Beyond my facial & body waxing, eyelash & eyebrow services, body treatments, and facials, I offer more advanced skincare services including, but not limited to, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, and microcurrent. Your skin is your largest organ and it is durable, but it does need attention and TLC for all that protection it provides and I’m honored when trusted in helping with this cause!

I’ve been practicing massage since 2002 and it’s constantly evolving for me. My core massage and bodywork education was in Swedish, Trigger Point, and Neuromuscular massage. I’ve pursued continuing education to become certified in Prenatal Massage, Thai Yoga Massage, AromaTouch Technique, Raindrop Technique, Soft-Cupping Therapy, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Facial Gua Sha, and am a Certified Medical Massage Practitioner. Beyond being certified in Prenatal Massage, I also attended a 26 hour Labor Assistant/Birth Doula Training Workshop and have been privileged to help three different strong, beautiful mothers welcome four healthy babies into the world as a Doula. I’ve taken a number of shorter courses and workshops to become educated and well-versed, and am also experienced in Myofascial Release, Ayurvedic philosophy, and Foot Reflexology. I integrate soothing warmth and need-specific aromatherapy in all massage and bodywork sessions at Repose Spa Studio.

There’s so much I want to continue learning in my branches of health & wellness and I have every intention of expanding my expertise with enthusiasm. Longtide Wellness Collective is the perfect place for me to continue to thrive both professionally and personally and I feel honored to be a part of this!
